“Then Moses said to the Lord, ‘O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.’ So the Lord said to him, ‘Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.’
But he said, ‘O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send.’”
Exodus 4:10–13 (NKJV)
If you grew up in church, these verses probably sound familiar.
If you don't know the story, Moses was called by God to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. Yet, he hesitated. Moses had a speech impediment, and when God called him, he immediately focused on his faults, perceived flaws, and insecurities.
It's human nature to focus on our faults and deficiencies. Our minds often gravitate toward the negative. In many cases, focusing on the positive requires intentional effort.
Let me say this: God doesn't make mistakes. Everything He does is intentional. God created you exactly as He intended. What you may consider a flaw, God can use for His glory.
I know many of us, myself included, have had experiences similar to Moses. Maybe it's a new job you've started. Maybe it's a new responsibility you've been tasked with. Whatever it is, know that God is with you and will guide you every step of the way just as he did Moses.

As I reread this story, I found myself paying closer attention to the Lord's response to Moses. In summary, God said, "Didn't I create you? Go, and I will help you."
Even then, Moses hesitated and asked God to send someone else. Imagine being handpicked by God to help fulfill His will, only to ask Him to choose another person instead.
I understand the feeling of not being good enough or worthy enough. I've asked questions like, "God, why me?" "What if I mess everything up?" "Surely there's someone who could do this better."
There are a couple things we can take away from the story above:
We have to remember that God orchestrates every detail of our lives according to His purpose. The very areas where you feel inadequate may be the areas God chooses to use most powerfully for His glory.
You can walk confidently knowing that God made you exactly the way you're supposed to be. He will help you in every area where you feel inadequate.
"I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."— Psalm 139:14
My prayer is that God allows you to see yourself the way He sees you.
The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives inside of you.
I don't think many who call themselves Christians take this to heart. God literally gave US the power to fight the enemy. You have the power to cast out demons, rebuke the devil and bind every negative thought or spirit that may be weighing you down. You don't have to wait for your pastor or worship leader to do it, YOU have the power.
Luke 10:19 says "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God's handiwork, created for good works.
Philippians 4:13 declares that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
Joshua 1:9 encourages us to be strong and courageous, for the Lord our God is with us wherever we go.
Even when Moses was transparent regarding his insecurities, God provided. The Lord showed Moses exactly what he should do. He even pointed out the assistance of Aaron.
Exodus 4:14-17 says "So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God."
God did not create us to live in isolation. Even though you may feel alone with this big mountain in front of you, know that God will supply you with what you need at the exact right time. Our God is gracious.
Even when we don't know how it all will work out, God has it all planned out. Moses didn't know how it would even be possible for him to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt, but God made a way.
I want to encourage you and let you know that whatever mountain you're facing, you don't have to go through it alone. God will be there to guide you every step of the way and He will lead you to victory.
